1,000 Dreams Fund’s Vision 2030 – 50,000 Served

At 1,000 Dreams Fund, we are aware that the world of work shifts and changes over time.  Our mission is to help talented women in need reach their dreams by providing greater access to education, mentorship, and career readiness opportunities.  With that in mind, in consultation with our corporate and workplace partners, it is important to understand how workplaces can prepare for the big and small changes that we will encounter.

With increasing digitization, automation, and robotics, businesses around the world are considering potential labor demand, workforce skills, and the mix of occupations that will be needed for jobs in the future.  Job growth will be concentrated in high-skill jobs, especially in healthcare and STEM fields, while middle and low-skill jobs will decline.

Not only will many people need to learn entirely new job skills and switch occupations because of shifts in the workplace, both in-person and remotely, but the next generation of women have an opportunity to step into roles for which they need advanced training, corporate mentorship, and career readiness.

Understanding these profound changes is necessary to plan and prepare for what is ahead.  It is with this mindset regarding the future of work that 1,000 Dreams Fund (1DF) embraces its three pillars: Funding, Mentoring, and Hiring.  Funding provides microgrants and scholarships which fuel educational dreams. Mentoring offers 1:1 mentorship sessions with well-matched mentors in multiple industries. Hiring launches experiential learning opportunities that lead to employment in a changing workplace and world.

Since founder and CEO Christie Garton launched 1DF in 2016, we have offered over $1 Million in scholarships and microgrants, more than 1,000 hours of personalized mentorship along with experiential learning opportunities and access to direct employment opportunities.  As we approach our ten year anniversary in 2026, we seek to build on this considerable legacy through an intentional expansion of our programmatic scope and international reach by 2030 to reach 50,000 women served.
