Meet Zaira B. (she/her), a New Face of Tech winner who is studying computer information systems at Georgia State University.

What is your dream?

I envision a world where women are not held back, receiving support at every stage of their education, with greater opportunities to learn, grow, and lead. Access to educational resources can transform lives, and I aim to help create systems that empower women, equip them with knowledge, and expand the opportunities available to them. This scholarship enables me to contribute to that change, providing the resources and opportunity to help make this vision a reality.

Please share how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

This scholarship is a milestone in my journey as a female in STEM, achieved despite the challenges that women like me around the world often face. It motivates me to continue pursuing my education, reach my career goals, and empower other women along the way.

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

My advice is to persevere even when circumstances feel challenging. Advocate for yourself, cultivate a network of supportive women you can rely on, and take full advantage of the resources available. Often, we do not realize what opportunities we are missing until we are exposed to them, and these resources can open doors to possibilities we may not have imagined.
