@xSinSisterx, 21 – FUNDED
@xSinSisterx plays FPS, horror, and simulation — and vibes to music — on her stream. But this BroadcastHER Grant winner is also highly attuned to the fact that many people are going through rough times and she wants to try and “make everyone happy”!
What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?
My dream is to put a smile on everyone’s face across the country just because so many people deal with some form of depression or anxiety.
How will your award from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?
My goal is to improve my production for my content and, with this grant, I can get the equipment necessary to do so.
What does being a recipient mean to you?
It makes me feel like I am finally accomplishing my dreams and getting noticed for all my hard work. It feels like a dream. I cry everyday remembering where I was in the beginning and never thinking I’d make it here.
Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?
To change this, we have to keep pushing and let men know that we aren’t going anywhere. We will be recognized!
What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?
I have faced many challenges based on just my skin color alone. During all the hate raid mess, I was hit more than 40 times and that completely destroyed my self-confidence for a couple of weeks. I stopped streaming, but now I’m back and I won’t let anyone tell me I can’t achieve great things.
What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?
If you want to start broadcasting, just do it. There’s no reason why you can’t be the next grant recipient!
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?
I look to my fiancé for advice, and he always keeps me level-headed. He knows I’m doing great, so I just keep pushing.
