@TattedPoodle, 29 – FUNDED
If you’re curious about @TattedPoodle’s name, here’s the scoop: She has a lot of tattoos and her college sorority’s mascot (Sigma Gamma Rho) is a poodle! This BroadcastHER Grant winner is a cosplayer who enjoys funny memes and Rock Lee [a fictional character in the anime and manga series Naruto].
What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?
I want to break down barriers for other Black women. I want to show that we can make our accomplishments come true even when the odds are against us.
How will the BroadcastHER Grant from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?
This grant will help me with resources and business knowledge.
What does being the recipient of the BroadcastHER Grant mean to you?
BroadcastHER shows how much they care about women overall. No matter age, race, or gender, we are all equal. I love that this helps other woman (no matter what background) to strive for their dreams and allows then to have the confidence to chase after their goals.
Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?
Showcase how amazing women can be — even in a male-dominated field. HERstory has shown countless times that women bring so much to everything around us.
What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?
Being a Black Female (Gaming) Content Creator has shown me that we are not appreciated in the gaming industry. I always ask people to name the biggest content creator they know; then name the biggest BLACK FEMALE content creator they know. Most have trouble answering the second question, which shows we have a long way to go in the gaming industry.
What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?
Strive for your goals no matter how far away they seem.
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?
Speak success into existence, then push yourself to make those words a reality.
