Meet Sofie W. (she/her), a VP of Impact Challenge winner who is studying Art & Design at Hanover College.

What is your dream?

My dream is to help children heal, grow, and express themselves through art.

Art has always been my greatest passion, and I’ve experienced firsthand how creativity can provide an outlet for emotions, struggles, and personal challenges. My goal is to become an art therapist, using artistic expression to support children facing trauma, disabilities, or social differences. I want to create a safe space where kids feel seen, heard, and empowered — where their creativity becomes their voice and their healing begins through color, texture, and imagination.

Art has the power to transform lives, and my dream is to share that gift with children who need it most.

I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity. It brings me one step closer to my dream of helping children heal through art. This scholarship empowers me to turn my passion into a career where creativity becomes a source of hope, expression, and transformation for those who need it most.

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

Go after what sets your soul on fire, and don’t let obstacles stop you. There will be challenges, but every setback is just part of the journey. Stay true to yourself, keep pushing forward, and believe that you’re capable of amazing things. You’ve got this!
