@SeeKaySee, 30 – FUNDED

Cruelty-free makeup and body artist @SeeKaySee is obsessed with anime, K-pop, and all things artsy. The BroadcastHER Grant winner wants to encourage the expression of creativity by any means possible — she believes you should never limit yourself because of what tools you do NOT have.

Professionally, she is a graphic designer with 10-plus years of corporate experience. Makeup is her way of being able to express herself creatively without being constrained by project requirements!

What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?

My dream is to inspire others to nurture and/or find their creative passions.

How will the BroadcastHER Grant from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?

This grant will help me support other creatives by allowing us to do paid art collaborations.

What does being the recipient of the BroadcastHER Grant mean to you?

I will be able to continue to support and work with other creatives and, hopefully in some small way, help them achieve their dreams.

Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?

Uplift each other by supporting their work and exposing their platforms to new audiences.

What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?

Staying afloat during the pandemic (like everyone else) while also finding and setting aside the savings and funds to put toward supporting my partnered artists.

What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?

As cliché as it is, do it for yourself. Perhaps film yourself taking part in a hobby and see how you feel seeing your work/performance on the record. If you’re having fun with it — whether you are charismatic and entertaining or quiet and compelling — your audience will find you.

How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?

I schedule EVERYTHING. By keeping to my time goals, I have the time to both produce my social content and still maintain a healthy work-life balance.
