Sam S., 22 – FUNDED

Meet Sam S. (she/her), a New Face of Tech winner who is studying Computer Science at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

What is your dream?

My dream is to work as a technical product manager in tech, building innovative products that prioritize people and foster community. I aim to advocate for first-generation Latinas in tech by providing mentorship and support to my community. I want to create meaningful impact in the security, tech, and entertainment industries while championing the use of technology for social good.

Please share how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

As a student who has faced numerous setbacks in completing my education, this win has given me both the confidence and financial support needed to finish school. It’s a significant milestone in my journey toward a career in tech, allowing me to focus on building passion projects rather than struggling to fund my education. This opportunity will empower me to fully dedicate myself to my goals and aspirations.

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

Confidence is key to manifesting your dreams. At the end of the day, you are your biggest advocate, and believing in yourself will help you overcome any obstacle.
