Ruisi D., 24 – FUNDED

Meet Ruisi D., a Paliwal Club of 100 Music Scholar who is pursuing a music degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

What is your dream?

My dream is to be a musician who brings people together through music, sharing not just notes and melodies, but love, passion, and stories that resonate. When I play, I want my audience to feel something real — to be moved, to find a spark of inspiration, to see a reflection of their own emotions and dreams. Music has given me a voice, a way to connect beyond words, and I want to use it to encourage others to embrace their own creativity, to discover what sets their hearts on fire. If my music can touch even one person, make them feel understood, or inspire them to chase their own dreams, then I know I’m fulfilling my purpose.

Please share how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

I am deeply grateful for this support, which allows me to continue sharing the stories of music and the journeys of musicians with the world. This opportunity empowers me to inspire and connect with audiences, especially the younger generation, helping them discover the beauty and passion within music. Thank you for believing in my vision and for making it possible to keep this art alive and meaningful for others.

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

Believe in your passion, trust your voice, and never be afraid to take up space. The journey toward your dream won’t always be easy, but resilience, dedication, and staying true to yourself will carry you through. Surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you, and don’t let doubt — whether from yourself or others — dim your light. Your dreams are worth fighting for, and your story is worth sharing. Keep going, keep creating, and know that you have the power to inspire others just by being yourself.
