While her favorite color is red, @ReemaDaBeast rocks the purple hair. This BroadcastHER Grant winner has been streaming on Twitch since 2015 and engulfs her life in video games (and makeup!). And, in case you’re wondering, her favorite food is lasagna and she firmly believes Naruto is the greatest anime of all time.

What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?

I want to build a large, inclusive, and amazing community on this platform and maybe — just maybe — make a career out of being a broadcaster!

How will your award from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?

I will be bringing back a podcast I developed on my channel called “The Panda Fam Podcast” where we talk about relevant topics in the Twitch community.

What does being a recipient mean to you?

THE WORLD! No, seriously, it means that my content is being seen and that you here at 1,000 Dreams Fund see my potential as a content creator and a broadcaster! It has uplifted and inspired me so much to put more time and effort into my craft. Thank you so much!

Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?

Put women in more places where they can be seen, heard, and appreciated! NORMALIZE FEMMES BEING IN GAMING SPACES! HAVE POSITIVE CONVERSATIONS ABOUT IT! Share both positive and non-positive experiences in these spaces for awareness and lessons learned. And, finally, be welcoming TO WOMEN AND NON-MEN!

What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?

I’ve been profiled about the games I play and accused of only having views because I’m a woman. I also have been overlooked for opportunities because of my channel size. But I do not let that deter me!

What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?

Do this with caution but do it with love. Always remember why you want to be a broadcaster and let that inspiration drive you through every stream. Enjoy yourself and stay true to your beliefs! And don’t be afraid to ask others for help. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE INVESTING YOUR FUNDS! Streaming can become expensive with the upgrades!

How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?

I find lots of motivation through the friends I’ve made along the way. There are some wonderful folks in the gaming/streaming community who have made this experience amazing and have given me some of the best moments of my life. I am very grateful.
