@Pumpknnn, 29 – FUNDED

Canadian streamer @Pumpknnn has a passion for gaming and building wonderful communities. The BroadcastHER Grant recipient also just loves to make people laugh.

What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?

I want to elevate women in FPS gaming and create more spaces for women’s voices to be heard.

How will your award from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?

It will allow me to continue streaming in the FPS field, run tournaments, and create a monthly women’s podcast.

What does being a recipient mean to you?

I feel incredibly honoured! I absolutely love everything about BroadcastHer and it feels amazing to be recognized as a woman working towards representing and elevating other women in the gaming space.

Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?

Work together! Advocate for more from companies, peers, and platforms — and create our own opportunities.

What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?

I’ve struggled in the past with feeling that what I was doing wasn’t enough for others — or that it wasn’t respected. I’ve come to learn now that, no matter the size of my impact, IT MATTERS. It is making a difference; and that’s all I want from my life!

What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?

Make content you love — and don’t just do what you think “is popular” or will work. Being yourself, making genuine connections, and just putting yourself out there is the best thing you can do.

How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?

I’m incredibly passionate about making a difference in other people’s lives. Just knowing that people come to me to make their day better is what I need to keep going and pushing for my dreams.
