Pooja G., 27 – FUNDED

Meet Pooja G. (she/her), a New Face of Tech winner who is studying data science at University of Michigan – Dearborn.

What is your dream?

My dream is to become a strong and impactful leader in the data and AI space — someone who leverages technology to solve real-world problems and make data-driven decisions more accessible, ethical, and inclusive. Coming from a different country and building my career in a new environment taught me resilience, adaptability, and the power of believing in myself even when everything felt unfamiliar.

I aspire to create intelligent solutions that improve businesses and communities, while also inspiring and guiding the next generation of women in tech. I want to help students build meaningful careers, share knowledge as a tech influencer, and be a mentor for those who need encouragement and support to step confidently into the world of technology.

Please share how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

This win reminds me that every challenge I faced while building my path in data and AI truly mattered, and it gives me the confidence to dream bigger, create impactful technology, grow as a tech influencer, and inspire more women to believe they belong in tech.

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

Believe that you belong in tech — no matter your background, where you come from, or how challenging the journey may feel.

I came from a new environment, had to adapt to different systems, cultures, and professional expectations, and faced moments of self-doubt. But every challenge taught me resilience and helped me grow — both technically and personally. Learning new technologies, building projects, working with data, and continuously improving my skills showed me that confidence is built through action, not just words.

Women are essential in shaping the future of every industry. Technology drives how the world works — from healthcare and finance to education and AI. When women take part in building these systems, we bring unique perspectives, empathy, creativity, and problem-solving skills that lead to fairer and more innovative solutions. Representation in tech is not just about numbers — it’s about influence, innovation, and creating technology that truly serves everyone.

My advice: Never give up, even if you fail. Believe in yourself, keep learning, embrace new technologies, and support others along the way. Be courageous, be persistent, and always be yourself — because your journey, your perspective, and your voice matter.
