Pearl Craig, 20 – FUNDED

Pearl Craig is a senior at the University of Arizona where she’s studying nutritional sciences with minors in biochemistry and entrepreneurship —and, excitingly, this New Face of Tech was recently admitted to the university’s Doctor of Pharmacy program. Her ultimate goal? To be an informatics pharmacist, and she’s well on her way!
What does being the New Face of Tech mean to you?
It means that my dreams are becoming a reality.
Women are underrepresented in STEAM. How can we change this?
We can continue to create more opportunities for women to feel comfortable in STEM, whether it be through funding or exposure.
What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?
Throughout my academic career, I have suffered from imposter syndrome. It has been a struggle to speak up in certain spaces because I’ve felt that my ideas and thoughts are not valued.
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?
I stay motivated by pursuing opportunities that speak to my passions while reassessing the steps that I can take to best achieve my goals; this keeps me busy and focused!
How will funding from the 1,000 Dreams Fund and HARMAN help you reach your goals?
It will allow me to pursue academic and professional opportunities that will better equip me to be the best candidate for pharmacy informatics residency programs.
