Osiris, 16 – Funded

A career in the FBI or as a biologist is of most interest right now to Osiris, a junior at Saddleback High School in Santa Ana, California. Once she graduates, she wants to follow the educational path to get her undergraduate and then her master’s degree.

What is something you are most proud of?

I’m most proud of entering high school and doing the best I could, because in middle school I did not try my best.

What does it mean to you to be selected as a Girl on the Rise?

It means so much to me because it gives me even more hope for my future and it lets me know that I can do the impossible.

What inspired you to want to be involved with Girls on the Rise?

Dreams cannot be accomplished on their own; you have to have help along the way and work hard for that dream to come true. So, I got involved because I know that Girls on the Rise will help me also.

How will funding from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals? In other words: Why is the opportunity to visit your prospective colleges important to your journey?

Visiting colleges will inspire me to work even harder to get into any of the ones I like. It’s also better to actually get to know the college before you decide to choose.

What schools will you use the funding to visit, and why?

I would like to use this fund to visit UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Davis, and Santa Ana College, as those are all schools I would love to attend.
