Meet Oluwatoyin “Elizabeth” A. (she/her), a New Face of Tech winner who is pursuing an Agricultural and Science Communications degree at the University of Georgia.

What is your dream?

My dream is to be the change I envisioned in the world by being part of the group of women who are shattering the female gender stereotype and making a positive impact on society.

I aspire to launch a non-profit organization to promote and inspire distinctive growth and development among women, youth, and children at all stages of their STEAM careers.

Please share how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

I feel elated and grateful for this win. It boosts my career confidence to keep going harder, and it is an honor to be a role model to young females struggling to believe in themselves, make career-informed decisions, and find their niche in underrepresented STEAM fields.

As a woman passionate about shattering the female gender stereotype and shaping the future of agriculture through communication and technology, this win proves that my dreams are valid and that my passion is relevant. It gives me a sense of purpose and validation that I’m on the right path in my career.

My face and voice now play a significant role in unlocking and embodying female potential. It symbolizes empowerment, unity, and the boundless greatness that emerges when women harness their full potential and use their comparative advantage for personal efficiency.

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

The world is your oyster. Never stop believing in yourself because your dreams are valid! Until you push yourself, you’ll never know what you can do. Despite all odds, keep changing the narratives and pursue your dreams confidently. Do not feel compelled to conform to the ideal roles that society has set for women.

Education is key to unlocking your potential. Embrace yourself, harness your potential, be distinct, and be a woman of substance and prospect. Wear integrity as a badge of honor, let your work speak for itself, and don’t downplay your potential.  Build a circle of incredible and like-minded individuals that matters to your dream. You’re a reflection of your role models, so choose them wisely.
