Meet Nathaly K. (she/her), a New Face of Tech winner who is pursuing a Communications degree at the University of Lima.

What is your dream?

My dream is to become the founder of a game studio that dares to create games with social, cultural, and educational impact. I want to challenge the limits of what games can achieve while working with emerging technologies like mixed reality to tell stories in ways the world has never seen before.

Please share how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

As an indie game developer, finding funding to create a game or pursue further education is often an uphill battle, especially when the outdated notion that this isn’t a ‘real profession’ still lingers. I want to prove that games can deliver meaningful experiences, spark change, and tell stories like never before.

This recognition not only boosts my credibility as a woman in gaming but also provides me with the opportunity to acquire MetaQuest 3 and dive into developing for new technologies. I’m SO grateful for this support and for believing in my vision. Thanks for helping my future in the games industry!

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

I know firsthand how difficult it can be to stand out or make your voice heard in a male-dominated industry. The best way to prove them wrong is to show the incredible potential that we as women bring to the table!

My best advice would be to set clear goals — and think about small steps you can take each day to move closer to those goals. Consistency and passion are your best fuel to become unstoppable, especially in a constantly evolving field like technology. It might feel like running a never-ending marathon at first, but once you start achieving those milestones, it’s like speeding forward in a race car.

And a personal note: Celebrate your wins, girl! No one but you knows how much effort you put in, so every small step forward is valuable. Own it and enjoy the journey!
