@MrsPeterdck, 23 – FUNDED
@MrsPeterdck is a wife, mom, and a full-time streamer who says she “radiates weirdness and positivity all over Twitch.” The BroadcastHER Grant winner loves to make people smile and talk about weird things, and kindness and positivity are her jam.
What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?
I want to show people that no matter where you’ve been in life you can still achieve your goals! I had my daughter at 16 and struggled for years to find my passion. I realized early on in streaming that it was what I was meant to doing. It felt like home, and when I am creating content, I feel most like me. I want to bring positivity to people and foster a space where they feel welcome and loved.
How will the BroadcastHER Grant from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?
It is helping me bring a better-quality stream by getting an entirely new PC!
What does being the recipient of the BroadcastHER Grant mean to you?
It feels really validating. I’ve struggled a lot with imposter syndrome and feeling like I’m not good enough. To see that someone wants to fund me feels incredibly overwhelming. I am so thankful for this opportunity!
Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?
By supporting other women! We need to cheer each other on instead of competing — and uplift and help other women!
What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?
I struggle with balancing parenting, being a mom, and being a wife — and finding time for what I want out of life. I often feel guilty for taking time away from my family to pursue my dreams for streaming!
What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?
Don’t let anyone else try to tell you what to do for your content! Believe in yourself. You CAN do it!
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?
I want to show my daughter that, no matter what you have done or what has happened to you in life, you can do anything you put your mind to. Remembering that keeps me motivated to keep doing better.
