What is your dream in gaming, esports, and/or content creation?

As someone who has built their own platform and foundation from the ground up, I aspire to create an organization that champions inclusivity in the gaming community aside from creating my own production company.

I aim to establish a studio that spans various media sectors, including gaming, technology, cinema, and more. My goal is not only to pursue my passion for gaming but also to support others on their journeys by providing the resources I wish I had when starting out. These resources will include training, mentorship, and accessible information to facilitate growth in their chosen media careers.

Playing video games throughout my life has significantly enhanced my skills, improved my mental health, and shaped my career in the media industry. I’ve had the privilege of meeting many incredible professionals and now wish to help others carve out their own unique spaces in the industry to make a broader impact.

Please share how winning support from 1,000 Dreams Fund is important to your dream and what impact it will have on your career?

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to receive this support, which will significantly advance my career goals and connections in media, broadcasting, cinema, and gaming. I am passionate in many areas, and this fund allows me to enhance my new PC journey and further connect with esports broadcasting.

As a first-generation and independent college student, this fund will not only help meet my financial needs but also inspire others to pursue their dreams. It can be challenging for POC creators to break into these fields or seek assistance, and I believe this support I am sharing to the world will encourage them to strive toward their goals and shoot their shot.

What advice do you have for women & femmes who want to work in gaming, esports, and/or content creation?

Most of my advice focuses on promoting your work and yourself in the most genuine way possible. Many people adopt a “fake it until you make it” approach, but I believe that can only take you so far. Ensure that your drive and purpose are greater than yourself; through this journey, you will learn more about yourself, your happiness, and what you need so you can help others in the community you want to thrive in.

Growth takes time, and often we don’t see progress until the very end. Be kind to yourself and practice self-gratitude, especially in the male-dominated gaming space. If you feel like you don’t belong, create that space for yourself. Lean on support during tough times while figuring out what you want to pursue in your media career, and put yourself out there. I’ve found that more opportunities opened up when I finally opened my arms out for more support. Remember to always take your shot—you miss every opportunity you don’t take, and you never know who is watching.
