“I will conquer this. I will do great things no matter what gets in my way.” This is the mantra that Miranda Grace Osborne tells herself every time she starts to doubt the success of her future. And, it’s working for her. This 1,000 Dreams Fund Scholarship recipient will be attending West Virginia University to study graphic design in the fall, which she eventually hopes to parlay into a career in the gaming industry.

What is your professional dream?

I would like to be a video game artist.

How will you use the 1,000 Dreams Scholarship?

I will use the scholarship to help pay for tuition.

How is this scholarship helping you get closer to your dream?

It is helping me to afford tuition to my dream school.

​What advice do you have for other young women who are wanting to pursue their dreams?

No matter what setbacks life throws at you, if you work hard enough you will find a way to succeed.

​Have you had any setbacks? How did you move past them?

My family has had many financial struggles in recent years, so without determination and optimism, I don’t believe I would be where I am today. 

What’s next for you? What is your next goal?

After I receive my degree, my dream is to work at Blizzard Entertainment as a video game artist.
