Macy, 21 – FUNDED

Macy, a senior at Washburn University, may be graduating soon. But, school is far from over for this 1,000 Dreams Fund Scholarship recipient who is just finishing up her undergraduate degree and on her way to graduate school to follow her dream of being a school psychologist.

What is your professional dream?

My dream is to become a school psychologist.

How will you use the 1,000 Dreams Scholarship?

I will use it for tuition and books for the spring semester.

How is this scholarship helping you get closer to your dream?

It is helping me finish my last semester of my bachelor’s degree to save up money for my master’s!

What advice do you have for other young women who are wanting to pursue their dreams?

If you want something, go for it. Insane courage can get you further than you could ever imagine.

Have you had any setbacks? How did you move past them?

I haven’t had many setbacks in my college career, but was on the fence for a while trying to decide what I would like to do in school. I weighed out the pros and the cons to see what fits me best moving forward.

What’s next for you? What is your next goal?

Pursuing my Ph.D. (hopefully!) or master’s degree in school psychology — somewhere in the Midwest!
