@LilMoePeeps, 26 – FUNDED
@LilMoePeeps is a full-time creative and lifelong “moe-tivator” — and she uses Twitch (and gaming!) as her way to regularly interact with her peers while helping others pursue their dreams. The BroadcastHER Grant winner loves to connect with people from everywhere and anywhere while gaming — and chat about anything from life to love, to even religion and politics. It’s all on the table.
What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?
I want to generate awareness and advocate for mental health.
How will the BroadcastHER Grant from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?
It will help me upgrade my stream to reach its full potential.
What does being the recipient of the BroadcastHER Grant mean to you?
It means that it is possible to reach my goals — and that I will be able to reach and help more people.
Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?
We should keep uplifting one another and supporting each other however we can. We must celebrate the wins and challenge the losses; make room for ourselves; and hold strong in it together.
What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?
Mental and physical health issues have been a challenge for me. Being underpaid and overworked — and oversexualized — is another challenge.
What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?
Think about the community you want to have and what you want to see changed, and then embody it any way you can. Network with people who have the same values as you. Having a dedicated streaming schedule also really helps.
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?
I always keep my eye on the prize. Having a wonderful support system to remind me what I’m working towards is also very motivating.
