@KiwiOnTheSticks – FUNDED

A “singin’ snackin’ streamer,” @KiwiOnTheSticks is the first to admit she brings a lot of energy and even more enthusiasm for embarrassing herself. As a variety streamer, the BroadcastHER Grant winner keeps it interesting with a range of games (she loves most things Nintendo and Square Enix!) along with the occasional makeup tutorials, cooking streams, outings, and unboxings.

What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?

I hope to be a brand ambassador or spokesperson one day.

How will the BroadcastHER Grant from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?

This grant helps me up my game in the ways that matter. Audio is one of the most important parts of a stream and I can’t wait to perfect mine.

What does being the recipient of the BroadcastHER Grant mean to you?

Being able to upgrade some of the equipment I’ve had since day one is surreal. It is signaling the beginning of a new chapter in my career, and that’s exciting.

Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?

Holding companies accountable for representation is what I push for. Women are already in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports, and are killing the game. Women need opportunities, and to be protected, uplifted, and empowered in the gaming space.

What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?

I’ve faced racism, sexism, and prejudice along the way. But I have experienced these things my entire life. I’m no stranger to navigating the world with toxic people in it.

What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?

Start! Put your best foot forward and protect your space. Trolls and negativity exist in every space, and you can and will find your way in broadcasting if you want to.

How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?

I have a great group of friends who keep me motivated and uplifted, and I’m really grateful for them. It isn’t difficult to stay focused when you’re aiming for something you really want, so having the support is comforting.
