Meet Jennifer O. (she/her), a New Face of Tech winner who is pursuing a Computer Science degree at Philander Smith University.

What is your dream?

My dream is to become a software engineer, but it’s so much more than that. I want to break barriers, rewrite narratives, and show that the tech industry is a space for everyone. I want to inspire and uplift the next generation of girls and women in tech, becoming the kind of role model I wish I had when I started.

While I am passionate about building innovative software and mastering algorithms, my ultimate goal is to build a legacy. I want to show young girls that they belong here — that they can dream big and achieve those dreams. I want to mentor, encourage, and help others see what’s possible when they pursue their passions in STEM.

This is the path where I find true purpose.

Being named a New Face of Tech fills me with deep gratitude and excitement. It’s a recognition that not only validates my journey but also empowers me to push boundaries, take on bigger challenges, and inspire others along the way. I am incredibly grateful for the honor of this award!

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

The path might be tough, but so are you. Keep pushing forward even when others say you can’t.
