Jacklyne Atotso, 31 – FUNDED

Jacklyne Atotso will be attending the Boston School of Theology where she will be pursuing a degree in Theological Studies. Here’s how this 1,000 Dreams Fund Scholarship winner has never given up on her dreams and pushed past setbacks.

What is your professional dream?

My dream is to be an educator.

How will you use the 1,000 Dreams Scholarship?

I will use it to buy an airline ticket to the United States to attend the Boston School of Theology.

How is this scholarship helping you get closer to your dream?

It’s helping me get to school and study to improve my knowledge and skills.

What advice do you have for other young women who are wanting to pursue their dreams?

Follow your dreams and keep going. You are worthy of being who you want to be — keep you focus, heart, and mind on it!

Have you had any setbacks? How did you move past them?

Yes. I was not able to join university immediately after my high school. I kept applying for scholarships for eight years, but got none. I never gave up, though. I kept on applying until I got an opportunity to study at Africa University in Zimbabwe.

What’s next for you? What is your next goal?

My next plan is to acquire my master’s degree to upgrade my education level.
