@ImThund3r0us, 19 – FUNDED
Burritos and lifting are among some of the favorite things for @ImThund3r0us — in addition to streaming her main games like Valorant, 7 Days to Die, Minecraft, Osu, and more. This BroadcastHER Student Scholarship winner is studying computer science — and her least fave thing is bad vibes!
What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?
I want to be a streamer and a broadcasting director for big gaming tournaments.
How will the BroadcastHER Student Scholarship from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?
I will upgrade my setup, take lessons on how to use OBS better, and maybe go to TwitchCon and network!
What does being the recipient of the BroadcastHER Student Scholarship mean to you?
It is a HUGE honor. I was so happy to see that I was one of 24 amazing streamers picked, and I couldn’t believe it.
Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?
Personally, I try to raid female streamers over men and others. As a group, we can continue to show that females are just as talented — in game skills and/or content creation — and maybe someday we will be represented at the same level as others.
What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?
I’ve had my fair share of hate comments, saying my success is accredited to my appearance. More often than not, randoms in my game will make fun of me or put me down once I speak in game — revealing that I’m a female. These are extra and unnecessary challenges to streaming and gaming.
What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?
Go for it. Yes, you’ll get some haters just because you’re a female. However, the community you can build and the people you’ll meet FAR outweigh the downsides to streaming. Be yourself and show them that your hard work is what makes you successful, not your webcam/voice.
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?
I’ve been streaming since 2017 — and gaming, in general, since I was born practically! I keep going for the community I’ve built. I’d hate to disappear and leave behind such an amazing group.
