What is your dream in gaming, esports, and/or content creation?

When I was young, I simply wanted friends to play computer games with. No direct family or friends of mine played any video games. So when I got introduced to things like Twitch and Discord during the hardest time of my life, everything changed. I enjoyed watching others have fun and get to join in the fun — and I dream of creating a space where people could find that same comfort, as well.

Please share how winning support from 1,000 Dreams Fund is important to your dream and what impact it will have on your career?

I tend to not leave the house often unless it concerns my kids, doctors appointment, or a a trip with my family. Thanks to 1DF, I get to travel and see world. I have made a lot of meaningful connections over the past few years. But it’s different when you get to deepen and/or make those connections IRL.

There are only so many feelings and enthusiasm you can convey through a online chat, an email, or even stream — and I’m looking forward to attending TwitchCon in a country I’ve never been to and making connections.

What advice do you have for women & femmes who want to work in gaming, esports, and/or content creation?

If you want to, definitely do it. Before I started with content creation, I looked around in the Twitch space for representation — not only as a femme creator but also as a parent. I wasn’t sure if I would be accepted in the space with running kids in the background, my partner shouting to the random(s) in online games, and me having to get up every now and then to parent.

But not only was I accepted — and apparently a fresh breath of air with all this chaos — my whole family got accepted. So if you’re thinking about creating content, or working in gaming or e-sports, you may be exactly what is needed to make a positive change for others or yourself.
