Meet evils_presley (she/they).

What is your dream in gaming, esports, and/or content creation?

Streaming has lit a flame in me like nothing before. I consider myself a realist and, since I was a young girl, I found it hard to even dream of my future. I hadn’t found anything I loved enough to pursue against all odds.

This is the first time in my life that I am not only allowing myself to dream big, but I fully believe in my ability to achieve it. I’ve never advocated for myself like this; I’ve never wanted anything this badly.

Twitch has given me a sense of community. I strive to share that sense of belonging, making my streams accessible and welcoming to all with disabilities and/or marginalized identities. I’m a lesbian and I’m so proud of the strength and kindness my community has shown to 2SLGBTQIA+ folks. I know I created the space that I needed, and I want to open that space to anyone who feels alone or disregarded. Finding your people is a feeling everyone deserves.

Please share how winning support from 1,000 Dreams Fund is important to your dream and what impact it will have on your career?

1,000 Dreams Fund is the reason I have the privilege to attend TwitchCon. Still in my first year of content creation, I recognize how lucky I have been in terms of my channel’s momentum in growth!

I think the opportunity to network at TwitchCon as well as attend workshops will be an invaluable experience to apply to my dream of streaming full time. I have also seen the lifelong friendships people form after meeting one another in the safe environment of the convention, and having never been to one, I haven’t had the opportunity to make those connections yet.

What advice do you have for women & femmes who want to work in gaming, esports, and/or content creation?

Put yourself out there! You can and WILL accomplish things you didn’t even think you could. This year, I have applied for things, having no expectation other than getting “practice” in advocating for myself. Through the self-love exercise of reaching for opportunities I thought too ambitious for lil’ old me, I have received so many invaluable experiences and validation in return.

Being proud of yourself for dreaming is already a radical act of self-love. Acting on those dreams WILL result in reward, more than you expect!

And lean on your peers for support! Don’t feel like you’re putting someone out by asking for help. Working through things together is a mutually beneficial experience!
