Emmanuella T., 23 – FUNDED

Meet Emmanuella T. (she/her), a New Face of Tech winner who is pursuing a Computer Science degree at Philander Smith University.

What is your dream?

My dream is to intertwine creativity and technology, forging experiences that solve problems and also stir emotions and ignite change. As a Computer Science major and an aspiring UX/UI designer, I envision a world where technology doesn’t just exist to serve, but to connect, inspire, and elevate people’s lives: Accessible Technology. I want to craft digital landscapes that feel as natural and intuitive as a conversation, where every interaction feels like a seamless dance between the user and the interface.

But beyond that, my dream is a ripple effect; a movement that empowers voices often unheard in the tech world — especially from women and underrepresented communities. I want to build systems that break barriers, from providing accessible solutions in healthcare to designing inclusive platforms that foster growth and education. My goal is to design impact solutions that tackle the toughest issues, from social justice to environmental sustainability.

At the heart of it all, my dream is to create a legacy that encourages others to follow their passions with boldness and authenticity. I want to prove that technology, when used with intention, can be a powerful force for good.

Please share how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

This feels like a powerful affirmation of my journey and potential. It fuels my passion to push boundaries and create innovative solutions, knowing that this opportunity will open doors and shape the future of my career in ways I never imagined.

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

My advice to other women reaching for their dreams is to embrace your uniqueness and trust in your journey. Don’t be afraid to challenge the status quo, even when the path seems unclear. Surround yourself with support systems that lift you up, and never let fear or doubt hold you back.

The world needs your perspective and talents, and every step forward, no matter how small, brings you closer to realizing your full potential. Stay bold, stay resilient, and remember that your voice, your dreams, and your contributions matter.
