What is something you are most proud of?

I am most proud of my academic accomplishments because they define me as a hard-working and passionate learner.

Have you gone through any tough or challenging times? If yes, how did you deal with those challenges?

Yes, I most certainly have. However, I view tough times as opportunities to only become stronger and more patient in overcoming obstacles.

What does it mean to you to be selected as a Girl on the Rise?

I am extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity given to me. It will certainly help me achieve my goals and prepare me for college.

What inspired you to want to be involved with Girls on the Rise?

My big sister [from Big Brothers Big Sisters] mentioned that this would truly be an opportunity for me to explore colleges and really prepare myself for something as big as college.

How will funding from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals? In other words: Why is the opportunity to visit your prospective colleges important to your journey?

The funding will help me explore and appreciate the college environment I would love to be in. This is such a huge step for me because it will allow me to make decisions that can be life-changing in a way that will determine what is best for my future plans.

What schools will you use the funding to visit, and why?

I would love to use the funding to visit the University of San Francisco and Chico State because both have amazing nursing programs. Also, I´m excited to see their school campuses and decide which one is most suitable for me.
