Daniela Beck’s professional dream is to become a project/product manager who envisions, leads, and ultimately brings new tech gadgets to market. And, she’s already achieved a huge milestone in that goal: This New Face of Tech winner recently graduated from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Management Information Systems and International Business.

What does being the New Face of Tech mean to you?

Being the New Face of Tech allows me to use my platform online in order to support and encourage other young women who want to pursue careers in STEAM-related fields.

Women are underrepresented in STEAM. How can we change this?

We can change this by creating communities (both in-person and online) that lift women up and show them that others are also going through the same sorts of challenges.

What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?

I have faced challenges such as imposter syndrome, financial difficulties, and a health scare that forced me to me miss finals during my first semester of college.

How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?

I stay motivated and focused on my goals by creating lists and having family and friends support me along the way.
