@dancermeme, 24 – Funded

dancermeme (she/her) has been streaming for about seven years, but she initially developed her passion for dance after discovering Just Dance. It was through Just Dance that this BroadcastHER Grant winner also developed an interest in learning languages, which is what she is currently specializing in! She encourages her community to speak Portuguese and French in her chat, so she can practice!

What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?

My dream is to be able to inspire other women in the content creation industry while pursuing a higher education.

How will your award from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?

It will help me by bringing higher quality content to my platforms.

What does being a recipient mean to you?

It means the world to me. It gave me the courage and opportunity to keep going and following my passion.

Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and esports. What can we do to change this?

Try and involve them in gaming events with a friendly, equal, and inviting environment.

What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?

My biggest challenge was trying to stay up to date with content while dealing with an almost dreadful hurricane.

What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?

Be you. There is nothing more beautiful than being yourself and showing the world what you’re made of and passionate about.

How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?

I always try to build a better relationship with myself before anything else. Once you love yourself, everything else comes around at its destined time.
