Camerin, 17 – FUNDED

Camerin Burtle loves animals and she’s making her passion her career. She just graduated from high school and is one of our #RealSuperheroes Challenge winners. We caught up with Camerin to talk about her aspirations and how she plans on spending her $200 grant.
What is your dream?
My dream is to work in a field with animals. I love plants, animals, bugs, and all of God’s creations! I just graduated high school and have started at Mid-Plains Community College for my Associate degree in science. This fall, I will be working on a Bachelor of Biology which opens doors for me to look at careers in conservation biology, zoology, research biology and similar fields.
How will you use the funding you received from the #RealSuperheroes Challenge?
This grant will go towards my tuition. Having the opportunity to take various classes in my field will help me find my true interest within biology.
What advice do you have for other young women?
Never pursue a career just for the money. Instead, you should go into a field that not only makes you happy, but gives you meaning as well.
We agree! What’s next for you?
Keeping myself focused will help me achieve my dreams and work towards an exciting future. I am looking towards earning my Bachelor degree.
