Meet Anita A. (she/her), a New Face of Tech winner who is pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Texas.

What is your dream?

My ambition is to provide creative solutions that improve global health outcomes. My intention is to create and advance cutting-edge medical solutions, beginning in Nigeria and expanding throughout Africa, with the eventual goal of having a global influence.

I aim to drive healthcare innovation while inspiring others to dream boldly in STEM. In addition, I am passionate about encouraging young girls across the world by demonstrating that with diligence and dedication, they can achieve everything they set their minds to.

Please share how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

I am deeply honored and grateful to be recognized as a New Face of Tech. This grant has ignited a renewed passion within me, motivating me to pursue even greater success and inspire more women in STEM to boldly chase their dreams.

This grant will not only ease my academic financial obligations but also enable me to attend professional conferences where I can network with industry leaders and stay informed about cutting-edge advancements in medical technology.

This opportunity brings me one step closer to achieving my vision of transforming the future of healthcare and making a lasting impact in the field.

What advice do you have for other women reaching for their dreams?

My advice is to trust yourself and seize every opportunity for growth. Understand that hardships are a necessary part of the journey, but they also shape your strength and resilience. Surround yourself with encouraging mentors and friends, and don’t be afraid to dream big.

Remember that with hard work — and the willingness to push yourself — you can accomplish everything you set your mind to. Always aim to inspire and encourage people along the road; this is how we will pave the way for future generations of women in STEM and other fields.
