When it comes to gaming, AniicornQueen has her sights set high — her goal is to go to the premier eSports tournament of the year, The International: Dota 2 Championships. But, in the meantime, this BroadcastHER Grant recipient is staying focused on being the best player she can be through persistence and hard work.

What is your dream as a digital broadcaster?

My dream is to go to The International: Dota 2 Championships.

How will the BroadcastHER Grant from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals?

I can buy a new camera, microphone, and a new computer to help me with my digital broadcasting efforts.

What does being the recipient of the BroadcastHER Grant mean to you?

At first, I could not believe it! But, I feel very lucky to have received this and to think that I am one step closer to making my dreams come true.

Women are underrepresented in gaming, broadcasting, and e-sports. What can we do to change this?

I think it’s all about encouraging other women to play. It can be as simple as that!

What are some of the challenges you have faced along the way?

Others have judged me and treated me badly, but I continue to overcome those negative responses.

What advice do you have for women who want to start broadcasting?

I would tell them to not be afraid.

How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?

I focus on the goal of one day being a very good player and that means never giving up.
