What is something you are most proud of?
I am most proud of my kind heart.
Have you gone through any tough or challenging times? If yes, how did you deal with those challenges?
There was a time I felt hopeless and defeated.
What does it mean to you to be selected as a Girl on the Rise?
This will be an amazing opportunity to continue building a future and exploring new possibilities.
What inspired you to want to be involved with Girls on the Rise?
I was told about it by my mom and my big [from Big Brothers Big Sisters]. Hearing it from them made me want to do it.
How will funding from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals? In other words: Why is the opportunity to visit your prospective colleges important to your journey?
I think that these opportunities are something I can’t let pass by — and visiting the colleges can help give me a glimpse of the potential future I could have.
What schools will you use the funding to visit, and why?
NYU or Eastern Nazarene College are two schools that I would love to visit and explore each college’s communities and college life. Both are also on the East Coast which is very convenient.
