Ana, 17 – FUNDED

Ana Pimlott wants to be a star. Born in Guatemala, the incoming senior at Willow Hill High School is focused on making it in the music industry. With the help of a $200 grant from our #RealSuperheroes Challenge, she’s well on her way.

What is your professional dream?

My professional dream is to become a singer.

How will you use funding from the 1,000 Dreams Fund?

I will use the 1,000 Dreams Fund grant to hopefully get my career going in the right direction — and to help others who are less fortunate than I am.

How is this helping you get closer to your dream?

This is helping me get closer to my dream because it takes a lot to start a career!

What advice do you have for other young women?

The advice that I give to young girls who want to chase and catch their dreams is to never give up. Never worry about what anybody else says or others’ opinions because it’s YOUR dream. You shouldn’t let what they say affect you.

Have you faced any setbacks? How did you get around them?

One of my setbacks was that I got bullied in middle school. It was really tough, but I wouldn’t have made it through without music. Music was really the only thing that I had during those rough times and it kept me going.

What’s next for you?

Next I am going to try and start up my YouTube channel. My goal is to gain not only subscribers but some new friends as well!
