Adriana A., 30 – FUNDED

Meet Adriana A. (she/her), a 1,000 Dreams Fund Scholarship winner who is a dietetic internship student.

What is your dream?

My dream is to contribute to the improvement of children’s health outcomes through nutrition education. I aim to help parents with the knowledge and tools to make healthier choices for their families, thereby reducing the prevalence of chronic diseases and promoting healthy behaviors throughout the lifespan. I am particularly passionate about working with Hispanic/Latino families, where I can utilize my cultural background and language skills to promote better lifestyles and health practices within these communities.

Please share a short quote that tells us how you feel about the win and what impact it will have on your career.

I’m thrilled and grateful for this scholarship, which supports my dietetic internship and career goal of improving community health through nutrition. As a proud Hispanic/Latino community representative, I hope my journey as a registered dietitian inspires other Hispanic/Latina women as much as they inspire me.

What advice do you have for other young women who are wanting to pursue their dreams?

My advice for other women reaching for their dreams is to have confidence in yourself and take the leap — even if you’re afraid of hearing ‘no.’ Trusting in your abilities and trying is always better than not trying at all. Remember, there’s a zero percent chance of achieving your dreams if you don’t take action and pursue them.
