Adriana, 16-Funded

Adriana Reveles is creative and has big aspirations. The 16-year-old at Northside High School in Houston wants to college and maybe even publish a book one day. We can’t wait to see Adriana’s name in print. An aspiring vet, she plans to attend Rice University to begin her journey.

Do you know what you’d like to major in or have a career in?  If so, what is it?

I am considering two fields, cosmetology and veterinarian.  I am leaning more toward being a vet.

What is something you are most proud of?

I can draw well and have good writing skills. I also am proud of being nominated for this award and winning. It is something to be proud of.

Have you gone through any tough or challenging times and how did you deal with those times?

When school gets tough for me with certain classes, I usually stay after school and ask for help.

What does it mean to you to be selected as a Girl on the Rise?

I honestly was really surprised. I think it’s a nice opportunity to get this and to be able to use it. I am proud of being selected.

How will funding from the 1,000 Dreams Fund help you reach your goals? In other words: Why is the opportunity to visit your prospective colleges important to your journey?

I believe the money will help to make things easier as I take entrance exams for college. It will be less stressful figuring out how to pay for all the preparations.
