Recapping VidCon 2022! 1,000 Dreams Fund Joins Thousands of Video Content Creators and Celebrates BroadcastHER

As VidCon says: “If you love video content, you’re not alone. Like, really not alone!”
There are literally millions of people making, watching, promoting, and creating the future of online video content — and VidCon 2022 celebrated the best of this fresh, vibrant world at the 2022 conference on June 22-25 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
VidCon always brings together the world’s leading digital creators, platform innovators, and their fans in one place. It’s literally the magic of digital media in real life.
We are so grateful to VidCon for having 1,000 Dreams Fund onsite as press members. Christie Garton, 1,000 Dreams Fund CEO and Founder, and Chelsea Larsuel, Programs Coordinator, had an incredible time.

We had the pleasure of attending GenG’s mixer for women in gaming and esports in addition to a number of other panels.

We loved seeing how TikTok was crushing their activations at the event. Their panel discussion, TikTok: The Impact on Entertainment, included Michael Scogin, VP of Strategic Partnerships at NBCU, and Bryan Thoensen, Head of Content Partnerships at TikTok. It was an insightful look at how COVID-19 dramatically changed how and where we consume content, and how we discover new entertainers — and TikTok has been an integral part of this.

TikTok featured an interactive installation and participated in several panel discussions, including “TikTok The Impact on Entertainment” and “Living Your Best Life.”
The Featured Creator Hour: Dream SMP featured members from the popular Dream SMP server, including TommyInnit, Ranboo, CaptainPuffy, HannahxxRose, Jack Manifold, Eret, Philza, Wilbur Soot, Tubbo, Living Your Best Life with AlyssaMcKay, monitoocrazy, Anna X Sitar, noordinarynoire, and B.Motiv8ed, who answered the audience’s burning questions!

At the Fashion Fluid Presented by It Gets Better panel, MattXIV, Chrissy Chlapecka, Cristian Dennis, MakingEmiy, and LilXXXBug talked about how fashion has always been a medium for self-expression, but it can be so much more than just showing off your style. It can connect identity and culture — and it can move beyond the binary and celebrate individuality in every flavor.
