1,000 Dreams Fund x Hitmarker to Present Esports Career Workshop for Women in Gaming!
Dreaming of a career in esports?
We’re thrilled to be partnering with esports job platform Hitmarker for a Career Search Workshop, on Thursday, August 5, that will help YOU get a job in the exciting esports industry.
As you might know, Hitmarker is no stranger around here. As the world’s largest gaming and esports job platform, the company has teamed up with 1DF again to support partnership with our BroadcastHER Academy Fellowship Program (powered by Allied Esports and HyperX) for women in gaming and esports.
Now, about this Career Search Workshop. It is for ANY woman in esports, gaming, and beyond.
It will provide exclusive esports and gaming career advice, including how to:
- Prep your resume and cover letter
- Identify suitable roles, and what research you should do to increase your chance of success
- Identify transferable skills and use them to apply to jobs
- Build a strong online portfolio
- Utilize LinkedIn and other social media effectively in the job search
- Effectively work with recruiters
PLUS, we’ll have an open forum for questions and discussion with Hitmarker and us at 1,000 Dreams Fund!
Check out this quote from Cam, Platform & Marketing Lead at Hitmarker, and one of our workshop pros.
“We’re big fans of the work 1,000 Dreams Fund does, and watching the organization and team behind it go from strength to strength lately is fantastic to see and so well-deserved. Talking to the BroadcastHER Fellows over the last two years has made it clear to us how much the program means to them — from the grant funding and learning opportunities, to the community of like-minded people that 1DF has built. We’re glad we can work with an organization that supports women from all walks of life in their career goals.
In our upcoming workshop with 1DF, you can expect top-to-bottom coverage of the job search in gaming and esports. Should your resume be different than if you were applying in another industry? Should your cover letter? How can you make your online presence work with you in your job search? We’ll be looking to answer these questions and more in the 90-minute session. Be sure to RSVP your spot at the event to pose questions directly to our team, and tune in to 1,000 Dream Fund’s Twitch channel on August 5 if you’re not able to make it!”
Tickets are limited to only 75, so be sure to RSVP HERE to secure your spot!
Not only will you get exclusive workshop access, we’re also sending all attendees a digital Esports Guide packed with resources from Hitmarker.
Meet Our Workshop Pros!
Cam is the Platform & Marketing Lead at Hitmarker. Having worked in esports for the last five years, he’s well versed with the industry and speaks to hiring managers regularly about what they look for in candidates. Outside of that, you’ll most likely find him writing something or defending his awful Star Wars opinions, from which he just won’t back down from.
Sara is the Recruitment Lead at Hitmarker. She is combining her Brazilian-ness with her years of experience in game recruitment to revolutionize hiring and job hunting in the games and esports industries. When she is not asking the community for feedback on Twitter, you will find her playing grand strategy games, keeping her ferrets in check, and reading doomsday prepping tips.
RSVP now! We can’t wait for you to join us on Aug. 5!
