Beauty Shot! WWP Beauty Becomes 1DF’s Latest MentorHER Program Partner this International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is Monday, March 8 — and it’s a day WORTH celebrating. And, we’re doing just that with our MentorHER Initiative and a very special partner: WWP Beauty.

WWP Beauty is a full-service, global beauty supplier for the cosmetic industry. As a future-focused, sustainable solutions company, this company is setting the standard for all things beauty — and they’re also such an ideal collaborator for MentorHER.

With MentorHER, we connect young women with well-paired mentors to help accelerate their growth and success in school and beyond. Each mentee receives a 60-minute, 1:1 virtual mentor session.

And, we couldn’t be more honored to be able to have WWP Beauty’s talented team members as guest mentors. We are matching women with their team members in engineering, marketing, accounting, sales, and product development! WWP Beauty will be doing 19 – NINETEEN! – mentorship sessions with our MentorHER program, happening all day long on International Women’s Day.

But, we actually kicked one session off a bit early, with a meeting between WWP Beauty CEO Josh Kirschbaum and mentee Ann Opevemi.

Josh is a global executive with more than 25 years in the consumer goods industry. He earned his degree in chemical engineering and has used those tools in his shift to business management.

Ann is a College of Staten Island student studying information systems and informatics. She intends to work in the computer software industry. As a first-generation college student, Ann was looking to attain a greater professional relationship with a great mentor.

They had such a great session!

“It was an amazing opportunity to get professional advice from a CEO! His openness and desire to help others are values I greatly admire,” says Ann about her MentorHER session with Josh.

If this sounds like something you want to get in on, it’s not too late!

We’re always looking for college and graduate-level students — or recent grads — across the U.S. to take part in MentorHER. International students studying in the U.S. — even those who are based in their home countries due to COVID-19 — are also invited to participate!
