1,000 Dreams Fund Announces Inaugural JBL Quantum Grant Winners
We cleared our calendars for THE ultimate night with women in gaming, featuring top streamers and content creators, hosted by 1,000 Dreams Fund and JBL. This special ‘Changemakers’ event happened LIVE on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. ET — and it was just one more way we’ve amplified the voices and jumpstarted the careers of women in gaming and esports.
During the event, we had a candid conversation with JBL ambassadors BrookeAB, Ninjayla, and Ava.GG, moderated by 100 Thieves director-producer Jaden Lebel. We learned about their career journeys, how they overcame obstacles, and what it takes to succeed in this male-dominated and highly competitive industry.
We also revealed the results of our JBL Quantum Changemakers Challenge and ANNOUNCED the 30 recipients of our inaugural JBL Quantum Grant with 1,000 Dreams Fund! Scroll down to see that full list of winners!
Fellow JBL ambassador Candace Parker, one of the most decorated basketball players and NBA 2K’s first WNBA cover star, offered her congrats to the winners while providing commentary on how she has broken barriers in her career.
“JBL is committed to improving representation of women and nonbinary individuals within the gaming industry,” said Ralph Santana, Chief Marketing Officer at HARMAN. “Through our partnership with 1,000 Dreams Fund, we hope that this year’s JBL Quantum Grant recipients are able to pursue their passions, making the gaming and esports industries more diverse and inclusive for all.”
After the live-stream, JBL Quantum Grant winners also participated in a virtual mentorship session with BrookeAB, Ninjayla, and Ava.GG, allowing these pros to give their advice on starting a gaming career — over a game of Fall Guys! Each JBL Quantum Grant recipient is also receiving a $1,500 microgrant to support her career aspirations and a JBL Quantum ONE gaming headset for the ultimate competitive advantage.
“By partnering with JBL, 1,000 Dreams Fund is looking forward to providing resources and hands-on mentorship experiences to the JBL Quantum Grant recipients,” said Christie Garton, founder of 1,000 Dreams Fund. “The virtual mentorship session will give these women the unique opportunity to engage with high-profile women in the industry and offer the space to have conversations on shared experiences in gaming.”
