In honor of National Mentoring Month, 1,000 Dreams Fund Unveils their MentorHER Initiative Coalition for Year 6 and an Event in Partnership with Chief San Francisco

January is National Mentoring Month — and, to celebrate the power of mentorship, 1,000 Dreams Fund has made an exciting Year 6 announcement for our MentorHER Initiative.
Along with their coalition of partners to be announced throughout the year, including Title Sponsor Colgate-Palmolive, 1DF will work to generate over 1,000 hours of mentorship service for their students over the course of one year.

Given this announcement, we were thrilled to kick off the month with the return of our MentorHER “Live” event where we pair our students directly with professionals who provide mentorship and guidance at the event! In partnership with Chief community in San Francisco, we hosted over 30 high school and college-aged students.

Hosted at Chief’s stunning San Francisco Clubhouse, this special gathering featured a fireside chat with 1,000 Dreams Fund CEO & Founder Christie Garton and Chief executives along with networking, 1:1 mentorships, and opportunities for young professionals to make career-accelerating connections.

This MentorHER event was an invite-only event that included the 1DF community, including our beneficiaries and Student Advisory Board members.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jessica Wong, who is on our Board of Directors, who did the most to make this event come together! We also were honored to have three of our Board members in attendance: Arthi Chandran, Holly Danko and Jing Nealis.

Thank you again to the Chief SF team, and our incredible panel of speakers! What an impactful way to kick off the year and celebrate National Mentoring Month.
