1,000 DREAMS FUND PARTNERS WITH NAACP LEGAL DEFENSE AND EDUCATIONAL FUND FOR EXCITING NEW MENTORING OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS!

Since our founding, 1,000 Dreams Fund has been committed to diversity and inclusion as part of our mission to fuel the dreams of talented young women. So that’s why we’re incredibly excited and honored about this announcement.

As part of our MentorHER Initiative, we’re announcing a partnership with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (NAACP LDF), America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice, to offer mentoring opportunities specifically for students interested in working for racial equality in the legal field. Students will be paired with attorneys at NAACP LDF for a 1:1, 60-minute session by video conference.

1DF’s MentorHER Initiative was created to begin a national dialogue about the importance of mentorship and its positive impact on the professional advancement of young women — especially those in most need — while connecting them with the right mentor for a high impact, 60-minute mentoring session.

MentorHER also serves as an unmatched pipeline building opportunity for industries and our corporate and nonprofit partners to mentor and accelerate the advancement of the talented young women we serve. Amazing, right?!

Our MentorHER partnership with NAACP LDF kicks off this February, in celebration of Black History Month, and runs through the end of March. Matches will be made based on the applicant’s stated goals and alignment with the program’s goals of serving students who aspire to careers in law and working for racial equality.
