1,000 Dreams Fund Goes Crypto! Now Accepting Cryptocurrency Donations

When you think of cryptocurrency, you may not think of nonprofits.

That’s because many of those organizations have not been able to accept Bitcoin (or other similar currencies) from donors and, at 1,000 Dreams Fund, we were firmly in that category, too.

But, not anymore!

We’re so excited to announce that we’ve gone crypto, thanks to our new partnership with The Giving Block — a company that facilitates tax-exempt cryptocurrency donations for nonprofits.

This is the first-time EVER that 1,000 Dreams Fund is accepting cryptocurrency donations — and we’re kicking it off with a bang for our #1000DreamsTo1000Realities Fundraiser.

A dream we have at 1,000 Dreams Fund is to support 1,000 real girls with real dreams through scholarships, micro-grants, mentorship support, and more. And, we’re excited to continue towards that mission with a goal of raising $20,000 by January 31, 2021 during this dedicated fundraiser.

“We are so honored to be collaborating with The Giving Block and to offer an innovative, new way for donors to give,” said Christie Garton, CEO and founder of 1,000 Dreams Fund. “At 1,000 Dreams Fund, we’re focused on making dreams come true for talented young women — especially industries in which women remain underrepresented like S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and math) — so it’s a natural progression for us to get digital with our donations, too!”

The Giving Block works with more than 100 non-profit organizations, contributing to the average $300 million that is donated in cryptocurrencies each year. Crypto is quickly becoming the preferred way for millennials and Gen-Zs to invest — and to give back.

“We are so excited to hit the ground running with the #1000DreamsTo1000Realities Fundraiser that will allow us to fund micro-grants to young women to help them fulfill their dreams of higher education,” said Christie.
