As the Workforce Continues to Shift, 1,000 Dreams Fund and Twitch Women’s Guild Place Their Bet on Community-Driven Programming

In its third year, the Streams for Dreams fundraiser hosted by 1DF and Twitch Women’s Guild returns at a moment when community-led support for women matters more than ever

WASHINGTON — Feb. 23, 2026 — The workforce is shifting faster than ever before. In fact, more than 455,000 women left the U.S. workforce between January and August of 2025, according to new research from Catalyst. At the same time, a growing number of companies have scaled back programs designed to support women’s advancement, with only half now prioritizing women’s career growth, according to the 2025 Women in the Workplace report from LeanIn.Org and McKinsey.

Against that backdrop, nonprofits like 1,000 Dreams Fund (1DF) are playing a more vital role than ever. With corporate investment in women’s advancement declining, organizations rooted in direct service have become essential advocates for underrepresented communities. 1DF, a national nonprofit that fuels the dreams of talented women, students and entry-career professionals in need, has responded to the moment by expanding its programming and forging new partnerships designed to meet dreamers where traditional systems have not.

This March, that work continues as 1DF teams up with the Twitch Women’s Guild for the third year on its annual Streams for Dreams charity fundraiser. The seven-day event runs March 16-22 during Women’s History Month and will feature 80+ guild members livestreaming on Twitch to raise funds for 1DF’s BroadcastHER Initiative, which supports women and fem content creators with grants of up to $1,500 for equipment, hardware upgrades and travel to conventions like TwitchCon.

“When I founded 1DF, I said I wanted this organization to still be here when my daughter is on her way to college. That’s still true, but the urgency has changed. We’re watching some companies pull back on the very programs that helped women get a seat at the table,” said Christie Garton, CEO & founder of 1DF. “That’s what makes our relationship with Twitch so meaningful. They’ve been a genuine partner in supporting women creators on their platform, and Streams for Dreams is proof of what’s possible when a powerful partnership between a company and nonprofit commit to showing up together year after year.”

Since launching the collaboration in 2024, 1DF and the Twitch Women’s Guild have raised more than $60,000 together and funded 40 guild members through BroadcastHER Grants, sending many of them to TwitchCon. What started as a weekend fundraiser has grown into one of the most visible partnerships in the Twitch creator community. Even during TwitchCon 2024’s Opening Ceremony, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy spotlighted the collaboration on stage.

The event also comes as 1DF celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2026, a milestone that marks a decade of investing in dreamers through scholarships, mentorship and other critical resources. Since its founding, the organization has distributed more than $1.1 million in funding to students and professionals in need. Streams for Dreams is one of several initiatives 1DF is scaling as it works toward its Vision 2030 goal of reaching 50,000 dreamers.

Throughout the seven-day event, Twitch Women’s Guild members will host livestreams and participate in a community raid train to raise money for the BroadcastHER Grant. Funds raised will support guild members attending TwitchCon 2026, with additional grants distributed to BroadcastHER applicants across the world. Anyone can participate by tuning in, donating or signing up to fundraise on their own channel throughout March.

“We’re really excited to collaborate with 1,000 Dreams Fund because we’ve seen how access to opportunity can genuinely change lives,” said OoeyGooee, Twitch Women’s Guild specialist. “Support like this makes it possible for more women in the Twitch Women’s Guild and the broader content and gaming space to show up, connect and grow in places like TwitchCon that aren’t always financially accessible. Being part of a collaboration that helps open those doors and reminds women they belong here is something we’re deeply proud of.”

“The Women’s Guild is thrilled to partner with a woman-led company this Women’s History Month to create impact, raise funds to send creators to TwitchCon and support an incredible cause,” added WATCHHOLLIE, another specialist with the Twitch Women’s Guild. “This year’s annual raid train will be our most powerful yet.”

Some of the Twitch Women’s Guild content creators taking part in the Streams for Dreams 2026 Fundraiser include: AngelicTriShort, applejackeroni, brittanytricks, bubblegumofficial_, Caityxox_, Carrie, CrunchySunflower HollyDollly, LateNightCandi, LittleMessenger, Lizzielilyy, Louerin, NamiChey, Polymune, sailornuggie, stelllajo, SweetheartAlyy, TheLadyLunadi, thegrapplegirl, Ultrasaurus, UnwellBeauty19, & many more.
